Some of the many faces you'll see at the Gluten and Allergen Free Expo

The second “San Francisco” Gluten and Allergen Free Expo is just around the corner, January 25th and 26th, and it promises to be bigger and more exciting than ever. As it has moved to the San Mateo County Event Center in San Mateo to accommodate the growing legions of gluten free devotees, mainstream has finally recognized that the (SAD) Standard American Diet is not one size fits all.

What’s exciting about this expo is the opportunity to speak one-on-one with nutritionalists, healthcare providers, and food vendors in the San Francisco Bay Area who are on the leading edge of all that is gluten and allergen free. Speakers  include Amy Burkhart, MD, RD, a medical doctor who is also a registered dietician and Nadine Grzeskowiak, RN, CEN, founder of Gluten Free RN

Samples galore will be provided by national brands such as UDI’s, Shar, and Enjoy Life, as well as local “mom and pops” creating new, tasty and healthy cuisines that rival any… gluten free or not.

But it is the people that make the expo “a must-attend” event. It’s a chance to share stories and experiences with others that “know and understand” what you are going through. From reading labels to quizing chefs and food servers, finally, we are not alone.

With so many vendors, classes and networking opportunities, you may consider spending both days at the expo. For tickets, goto:

And if you’d like to share your “Gluten Free Stories“, I’ll be there both days with camera in hand. (send me an email at

Looking forward to seeing everyone.
